El poeta Halley Art Show, Sergio Mora en LAB36

If you haven´t seen Love of Lesbian live this year (something that we doubt because they are everywhere) this Wednesday their lead, Santi Balmes is here not to sing about lack of love but to talk about art.

Sergio Mora illustrated the last album of the band:  “El Poeta Halley” and helped them win the Grammy Latino 2016.

El Poeta Halley takes inspiration from Ziggy Stardust, the figure created by David Bowie for the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The paintings represent fictions created from the lyrics of the songs on the album where the character of the poet Halley is the protagonist. Each stamp illustrates a song in one colourful composition with elements extracted from the suggestive aesthetic pin-up, tattoos and comics in an effort to redefine the imaginary of popular culture in a poetic way.

The opening will feature the participation of Santi Balmes who will present the event and talk with the artist about the project. This presentation coincides with the 2 final concerts of the group’s tour at the Sant Jordi Club of Barcelona on November 24 and 25.
