BARCELONA AGENDA 12.9.16-18.9.16

September is a strong month with the return of all our favorite markets (Palo Alto, All Those, Eat Street…) and, wait for it, a few new ones!

The highlight of last week was the concert on Wednesday at Hotel Pulitzer. My friends and I absolute loved the place, right in the heart of Barcelona. The band, Shadow Sessions was quite refreshing and they had a lot of fun while playing for us so you could see the reflection on people´s faces. There are a few more concerts until the end of September, I recommend you to check it out!

This week is quite exciting, there are plenty of cool events going around Barcelona so it was quite difficult to come up with a selection that covers all tastes. I hope I did it right and you like this week´s events as much as I do!

This is the first time I find Guzzo on my way and it gave me a very good vibe! I had a brief talk with Fred, one of the people running the place, and I really like their concept mixing music, food, drinks and art. Their website it´s quite good and they organize lot’s of events (they even have a Peruvian brunch on Sundays!!)live painting session Aleix Gordo at GuzzoEvery month they invite a different street artist to decorate one of the walls of the venue in a live event. As Fred described, they have alive walls, where they show the work from different artist. In terms of food, everything they serve is fresh and adapted to the Mediterranean style, having new and innovative dishes every week. Apparently they are quite good at cocktail making as well, something that for sure will try out on Monday 😉

This is the third edition dedicated to Daniel Jaboby, a Peruvian artist that makes abstract narrations using videos, texts, publications, performances and various other formats. During this exhibition at CRANC we will see some of his work from 2011 until 2016.

cranc, daniel jocoby

Cranc is a cycle of cinema and experimental video exhibition that takes place at                   L´Automàtica, an old letterpress print shop in Barcelona rescued by a a collective of graphic designers and artists and turned it into a self-managed cultural association. It looks like a pretty cool project, I guess that I will need to go around on Tuesday to see it with my own eyes…

Feria Vegana is organizing some activities this week. Among them there is a quite interesting event this Wednesday at Casal de Barri de Pou de la Figuera where they will show the documentary film Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret (2014). This film reflects the impact of animal agriculture on the environment, and investigates the policies of environmental organizations such us Green Peace, Sierra Club or Surfrider Foundation Rainforest Action Network.

Apart from the film there will be some experts on the field and documentation as well as vegan drinks and food. Quite of an interesting opportunity to get closer to veganism and understanding why we cannot keep using resources in the level we are at the moment (hello, 43 degrees in September?)

I was trying to find some information about this band that sounds amazing. They sound quite English in style but it turns that they are pretty Spanish. Most of them have been playing with big bands separately  and started their own project last year. Since then, some of you might have seen them in some private concerts or during some summer festival. This September we are lucky enough to have them in Barcelona.nothing places at absenta del raval

I am totally in love with this event! I always talk about Raval pretty much because I love the neighborhood.
