Writing from the airport connected to my phone wifi is not fun. When you arrive to your destination and your friends needs to go to emergency because she fell from an electric bike while a bit tipsy on a Tuesday night gets a bit funnier (greetings from the hospital!).  Going to BBK´16 Festival is totally worth all of this craziness.

I am  starting to enjoy writing the agenda from different places while travelling around Spain. I was away from my country for 6 years and feel like a real Guiri myself, I can say that I am really enjoying the experience!

I am very excited to present this week´s  because there are many cool things to do in Barcelona, as usual, but I found many of those places while walking around the city so it feels kind of special. I hope you enjoy the plans as much as I did writing the agenda in the weirdest places this time!

MONDAY 11TH OF JULY | M83 LIVE AT FESTIVAL JARDINS PALAU REIAL PEDRALBES

Just found out this week about Jardins Palau Reial Festival and realized I missed out a few bands that I really like. well, better late than never, we have the chance to see the amazing M83 live and outdoors this Monday.

international bands concerts open air barcelona

It is quite of a big plan to start the week but its totally worth it. They are one of the main bands I came to see at BBK Festival! Price is kind of affordable if you are a big fun or have enough money to do something like this on a Monday :p

José González, another one of my favorite singers will be here on the 12th!

TUESDAY 12TH OF JULY | ELS VESPRES

This initiative from University of Barcelona is great. They do this series of concerts all year long and of course, now in summer the concerts will be “ a la fresca” taking for location the gardens of the University.

The bands are usually quite new are not super well known but that´s the beauty of this kind of events, to discover something new and exciting.

I went to one of the concerts during winter season and I remember one of my failed tinder dates asking me why was I going to a concert from a band I didn’t know… what a loser… Barcelona puts on our hands too many amazing (cheap or free) things to do and we should take advantage!

Free entrance with limited amount of people, try to be on time! More info here.

WEDNESDAY 13TH OF JULLY | HELLMANN´S RUTA BURGUER

I have to say that I was quite excited when I saw my work colleague coming with the little Hellmann´s Ruta Burguer printed book with all the burgers and different places where to eat for only 10€ with drink and fries!

I didn´t have the time to go yet but it´s on my to do list for next week! If you take a picture of your menu and upload it to Instagram and Twitter you can win another menu, there are more than 20 restaurant participating in Barcelona offering a huge range of burgers. My mouth is meting right now…

THURSDAY 14th OF JULY |TALLER DE TAPAS VEGANAS SIN FUEGO

One of my friends is organizing a fire free vegan tapas workshop (wow, that was hard to translate). She will be hosting the event at Sala Dana with chef Amelia Granados as partner in crime.

fire free vegan tapas workshop

Cristina de la Torre, the event organizer, has done some microbiotic and vegan food cooking and I can tell after a few lunches and dinners at her house that she is amazing. It is true that I eat a lot and almost everything but Cristina has a special touch.

She is as well super welcoming and friendly, the workshop will be in Spanish but I will be around if anyone is brave enough to join us ( I will get free extra food for the translation :p).

Those are the recipies they are going to cook:
*Batido verde revitalizador y alcalino
*Paté de albahaca y tomate seco crudivegano
*Queso crudivegano con miso y pimienta verde
*Rollito de ensalada Thai
*Pasta crudivegana con salsa al curry y parmesano vegano picante
*Mousse de chocolate y arándanos

If you want to have a fun time and learn a few tips to cook vegan food you are more than welcome. To register you need to email cristina@tribuvegana.com. More info here.

FRIDAY 15TH OF JULY | CONCERT AT LA ROUGE RAVAL

Another one of my dates brought me last week to Le Rouge at Raval, you all know that I love the neighborhood but I cracked a small joke at the beginning saying that I am happy to go anywhere except for Enrobadors (if you have been in Barcelona long enough you know why) and he didn’t find it very funny…

Thus we ended up at Rambla del Raval which is a bit safer and had a great time at La Rouge Raval terrace. Apparently the bar is placed in front of an ex squat house. There is a great mix of different people form different cultures and its one of the first non Pakistanis places in the neighborhood. They have different concerts and shows every week, this Friday there is a pop rock concert from 9.30 pm, great way to start your weekend!

SATURDAY 16TH OF JULY | PICNIC AND BREAK

This is the first edition to the Picknic and Break festival and it seems like a really cool party with Dj’s, funk music, MCs, Graffitti and the usual and beloved food trucks.

They even have a chilling zone with hammacks to get some rest and let you enjoy the weekend while you relish your especial food and music. As we like it in summer is open air and free!

SUNDAY 17TH OF JULY | ALOHA MARKET JULIO

If you like markets as much as we do, a good plan for Sunday is Aloha market, in Sant Andreu de Llavaneres (passed Mataró), the perfect occasion to explore Barcelona’s coast and discover new places.

They will be right by the beach at Club Nautico El Balis and will count with stands with clothes, complements, decoration, art and many more things. Of course there will be some music and activities for kids and grown ups. See you there!
