BARCELONA AGENDA 20.6.16-26.6.16
Barcelona never sleeps, after this crazy week with Sonar and Off Week you have a few days to recover until San Juan and La Festa del Foc.
There are plenty of traditions in Spain and this is the best time of the year to discover them since most of the celebrations take place during summer time. Ready?
MONDAY 20TH OF JUNE | VINUM NATURE BARCELONA
Writing the agenda on a Saturday after Sonar doesn´t inspire me much to talk about alcohol. However, I really like this event and I think its quite interesting, not only for wine experts but for wine lovers as well.

There is a big tendency for ecological wines in the last years which I totally support since it takes them a great effort to come up with those tasty wines without using any of the tricks and chemicals the rest of the wines do. This is considered the biggest European exhibition of organic, natural and bio-dynamic wines and they will count with more than 90 expositors, wine tasting and chats through the whole day.

TUESDAY 21ST OF JUNE | FILM CYCLE CURATED BY ANDRÉS DUQUE
This week at MACBA we can enjoy a special session by the hand of the filmmaker Adrés Duque. They will be showing a series of films under the name “shadows and silences or the ghost that returns as if for the first time”.

Andrés received the inspiration to do those glomy films from an exhibition he saw in Caracas at the Galería de Arte Nacional from the artist José Antonio Hernández-Díez.
The other good thing about this plan on Tuesday is that you are already in Raval so you can go for a few drinks, dinner or just a walk around that amazing neighborhood.

WEDNESDAY 22ND OF JUNE | FREE WORKOUT CLASS AT PARC DE LA CIUTADELLA
Summer is here so I guess you started “la operación bikini” a few months ago… This free class from Swedish Fit Barcelona will help you with some tips to keep working on your summer body, meet some new people and of course, have fun!
The locations is great, if you haven’t been to Parc de la Ciutadella I highly recommend it. The parck is the only green space in the city center and apart from being absolutely stunning its always full of people playing music, doing all kind of exercise and in general just having fun.The vibe in the park is quite cool all year long.

THURSDAY 23RD OF JUNE | SAN JUAN AT BARCELONETA
San Juan is one of the best parties in Spain. We celebrate it everywhere and in most places the thing to do is going to the beach at night to welcome summer with fire, food, drinks and a little swim at 12 o clock.
The tradition of San Juan comes from religion, as most festivities in Spain, but this one has a little touch of paganism with the use of fire and the celebration of the summer solstice. Since the origin and reason of this festivity is not clear what we Spanish do is use it as an excuse to meet with family and friends and, of course, to have fun.
You will need to plan it in advance if you want to do it the Spanish way and collect a good amount of wood for the fire, barbecue food, drinks, music and you should arrive to the beach quite early to take a good spot. If you feel overwhelmed with the thousand of people that there will be at Barceloneta you can always go to any of the towns around Barcelona.
There will be plenty of parties at the beach and around the city as well so for sure you will find a plan. The good news is that Friday is Bank Holiday in Barcelona so you don´t need to work hungover, yay!
FRIDAY 24TH OF JUNE | SUMMER NIGHTS AT LA PEDRERA
If you haven´t been to La Pedrera yet (probably because of the price) we have the best plan for you this Friday!
The price is still high (30€) and they propose a visit to the Espai Gaudí, a visual tour of the work of the architect and to end up with a drink on the terrace with a live Jazz band on the background. Seems like a pretty sweet plan to get to know Barcelona a bit better 😉

SATURDAY 25TH OF JUNE | ART LOVER GROUND FANCY NIGHT
Art Lover Grounds comes back to Barcelona with their fancy night at Slow. We have been to a few of their previous events in London and Barcelona and the organizer keeps surprising me every time.
If you like art and like to be surprised that´s the perfect thing to do on Saturday. They have different artist, life performances, music and a lot of interaction. I love the fact that you can talk to the all the artist there so it is a pretty good event for networking as well. The organizer is Italian and the whole event is organized in English, thus you can always find a very good mix of nationalities..
SUNDAY 26TH OF JUNE | BRUNCH AT NABUCCO TIRAMISU
Sundays are not made for being busy and walking around but to relax and enjoy and we have the best plan for you in my beloved neighborhoood Gracia!
A few weeks ago I went with a few friends to Nabucco Tiramisu and we loved it! The decoration is amazing, service is quick and friendly and food is just yummy. We went for their pizza and focaccia menu with salad and fresh juice and it was amazing. On of the guys had one of their famous tiramisu and it was divine, seriously, that small piece of heaven was too much. They have a terrace outside the cafe so if you are lucky enough you can enjoy the beauties of the place while working on your tan.
Hope you enjoyed this “going back to normal agenda” after the crazy weeks we have had before. Remember to wear your sunscreen when going outside, I saw some bright red people this week in the street and that´s not good for your skin!
If you have any recommendation or would like to appear in the agenda let us know! ☮ & ♥
