BARCELONA AGENDA 25.4.16- 1.5.16
Are you looking for different things to do in Barcelona? Do you want to explore the city outside the typical touristic places? Look no more my friend, we have the best selection for you every week!
MONDAY 25TH APRIL | WALK AROUND GRACIA
I have been in Barcelona since October and I am ashamed to recognize that I didn’t know Gracia neighborhood. I guess I went around the area maybe a couple of times while I was a bit tipsy and cannot remember much.
Last week we went to Le Journal for Dawadoo afterwork and I felt totally in love with Gracia. There are plenty of little shops and cool bars so its quite easy to get lost over there. It seems to me like a more structured version of Raval, still my favorite place in Barcelona.
TUESDAY 26TH APRIL | AMAR EN TIEMPOS REVUELTOS AT ESPACIO PEDRERES
I always have very long conversations with my friends about love now a days, how difficult is to find a person to share your life with and even how some people feel very restricted about sexuality while others go around with plenty of different partners…
The talk this Tuesday at Espacio Pedreres in Poble Sec will be focusing on:
– Desire and attraction of emptiness
– Lover (active) or loved one (passive); the myth about romantic love and the advantages of a democratic love
– The pagan concept of eroticism based on Platoon’s times
– How does stress affects sexual interactions
– Effect of porn in the actual society
I think it’s a very cool discussion where you can learn a lot from others points of view and maybe understand a bit better what the hell is happening with today´s society!
WEDNESDAY 27TH APRIL | HAVE A CREPE AT CREPES AL BORN
I know, they didn’t go crazy about the name of the place but I love it! Crepes al Born is a super accessible place, very easy to find in El Born and the atmosphere is just great. The staff is always happy and friendly and they make A-mazing cocktails. Their mission says “We serve first quality cocktails, unpretentious along with our best smiles and excellent music”, and that´s damn right!
My recommendation for you on a Wednesday is that you better try their savoury crepes since it’s a school day and you probably don’t want to misbehave…However, you always have the chance to drink your cocktails instead of having a dessert.
My favourite cocktail? Zombie, and the bartender “J” is just the best. He really looked after me and my friends one of the last times we went there 😉
THURSDAY 28TH APRIL | SOFA CINE AT SUSURRO
I recently saw this event on Facebook and I think the idea is great! They are using the space at Susurro Barcelona to show a movie in a sofa, with the popcorn and all the paraphernalia.
The idea is to watch a movie in a confi concept, as if you were at home but with a bunch of people looking for some fun and relax. They have a huge screen and a big sound system. My favourite part is that they are open to any kind of movies so they will let you chose on their event page.
FRIDAY 29TH APRIL | RAVAL CALLING AT INUSUAL PROJECT
Once upon a time there was a bar in the heart of Raval. Inusual Project was called and all they want for you is to have fun. The owner is cool, and they have a great eye for events. An 80´s party they proposed and we love the plan!
We have been to several of Inusual Project events and they always bring different and fun things to do in Barcelona every day of the week.
This Friday they are rocking it with a 80´s party where the Dj´s Niño Jumanji and Andrés Barthel promised to play the best 80´s hits for you to “move your skeleton” (mover el esqueleto = to dance, and in the case, like crazy).
SATURDAY 30TH APRIL | MUSIC FLAVOR AT TEATRE NACIONAL DE CATALUNYA
One of the things that amaze me about Barcelona is the amount of stuff going on every week and the capacity for people to create new things. This Saturday there is a very special festival at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya.
Why is it special? Because is the first time that the Theater open its door to Electronic Music since it was built by Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura in 1996.
Doors will open at 12 am with artists such us Davide Squillace, Tiefschwarz (Official), Huxley, Seb Zito, Rossko, Sebo K, Dario Rossi Drummer, Manuel del Giudice, Jade – CA, Playless. The party will go on until 10pm where music lovers will dance their ass off in a dance floor bath by the sun light and enjoy some food trucks and activities such as “Deep House Yoga”. This is a family friendly festival so the party animals will get a free entrance to Razzmatazz to keep moving their bodies.
Tickets and more info here.
SUNDAY 1ST MAY | FLEADONIA AT PLAZA SALVADOR SEGUI
It looks like we are going to spend a lot of time around Raval this week, but what can I do if they have a lot of cool stuff going on?
I am sure most of you know Asociación Freedonia since they organize lots of parties, concerts and alternative plans in Barcelona. They are quite active so the first weekend of every month they associate with Flea Market and do their thing at Plaza Salvador Segui, where you can find all kind of items from second hand, vintage to handmade. Perfect plan for a Sunday hungover!
As usual, we hope you enjoy the plans and mostly you find the energy to do it! Remember that you are in Barcelona, don’t be lazy and enjoy the city! ☮ & ♥
