BARCELONA AGENDA 28.3.16-3.4.16
Oh mates we do love being on holidays! Couldn’t wait for those 4 days off to enjoy our lovely city Barcelona. Even if all I wanted to do was sleeping, this wonderful weather pushed me away from bed to explore the city and the thousands of events going on during the Easter break.
Because we won´t let you get bored in Barcelona we bring you again the perfect agenda for every day of the week!
MONDAY 28TH MARCH | THE HOLYDRUG COUPLE + CELESTIAL BUMS AT FUNDACION FREEDONIA
I have to recognize that I had no idea who those bands were but the names are quite cool. As I do with everything that is unknown to me I asked my best friend Google and I have to say I am quite happy about the result! Love the “religious” theme of the party right after “Semana Santa”, well done Fundación Freedonia!
Asociación Freedonia ,Carrer Lleialtat 6, 08001
The first band The Holydrug Couple apart from having a super cool and original name they have a special talent for psychedelic rock music. They come all the way from Santiago de Chile for their European tour and we will be lucky enough to have them in Barcelona!
Celestial Bumbs is a band from Barcelona, they describe their music as “a thick and hypnotic wall of sound that emanates a monotone neo-psychedelia accompanied by evocative lyrics of freedom, consciousness and travels”. After listening to them I don’t think I could do a better description.
Tickets are 8€ in advance or 10€ at the door.
TUESDAY 29TH MARCH | STANLEY SUNDAY AT CCCB
The CCCB (Center of Contemporary Culture in Barcelona) organizes an exhibition every month promoting different artists called “a month an artist”. This March we can enjoy the work from David Domingo, better known as Stanley Sunday.
David is a super talented Spanish artist with a touch of craziness. Born in Valencia he is currently living in our city Barcelona. His work is mostly focus on short movies, video clips, Super 8 and 16 mm films.
C/ Montalegre, 5
He has work for serveral independent bands as Fangoria or Hidrogennese and his work “Un día en la vida de Jonas Mekas”, he has become an outstanding figure in Spanish underground film industry.
The exhibition will be on only until the 31st of March, you cannot miss out!
WEDNESDAY 30TH MARCH | “URBAN VIEWS” AT BAR DEL CONVENT
This Wednesday is the last day to enjoy this free exhibition at Bar del Covent in El Born. The artist is Iris Herrera, a Catalan young woman with different influences that considers herself auto-didactic and hypersensitive, reflecting her personality on all her work.
Carrer del Comerç, 36, 08003
We really like this kind of exhibitions, quieter and personal and where you can talk face to face with the artist, finding out what inspire and provoke them. Urban Views wants to show human feelings through facial expressions using different painting techniques.
The venue, Bar del Convent is a unique spot in Barcelona at Covent de San Agusti. What makes them special is the aim to help new ideas and projects in Barcelona through the use of their installations. They are welcoming any kind of events from art exhibitions, bands, comedians, etc.
THURSDAY 31ST MARCH | PRESENTATION GUINEU BEER
IPA beer lovers do you think there is enough offer for you in Barcelona? I am quite content with Estrella Damn wherever I go, however I am totally aware it might not be the best option for Ales and IPA’s seekers.
The plan for Thursday will be perfect for you! Napar BCN Restaurant, one of the best places to have craft artisan beer is organizing a session with the guys from Gineu Beer, who will do a live session about IPA’s.
Napar BCN has a very elaborated food menu as well so be prepared to enjoy the best dinner and drinks of the week. Here is the menu if you want to have an idea of the yummy stuff you will find there 😉
FRIDAY 1ST APRIL | THE JOKE´S ON US
BIG (Barcelona Improv Group) is organizing the show “The Joke is on us” this Friday 1st of April. They started back in 2011 and now they are a school where they teach different disciplines of comedy, do workshops at companies and organize shows every week.
Tinta Roja 08004
The show this Friday is based on April´s fools where they present and interactive show for your laugh and enjoyment. We really appreciate the effort Barcelona is doing to include more shows, events and exhibitions in English to reach all the international people in the city. This is one of the main reasons we love Barcelona, right?
Tickets only 10€
SATURDAY 2ND APRIL | TASTE ALL THOSE
We are very excited about this market on Saturday. Its being a while since we went to the last Farmer´s market and cannot wait to buy some fresh products. The venue couldn’t be better, the historical building of University of Barcelona.
Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 585, 08007
The whole idea behind Taste all Those is great, they will have the food coming directly from the fields outside the city. Among all the products you can find fresh veggies, fruit, cheese, meat and even flowers. You can also have a chat with the experts while you enjoy a sunny day full of music and good people.
The best? They have stands cooking on the spot for you and lockers where you can leave the stuff that you buy and keep enjoying the day.
SUNDAY 3RD APRIL | BRUNCH AT THE HOUSE OF THE ARTIST
Elisa is a young artist living in Barcelona that organizes a brunch at her own house while you speak with her about her art or anything that comes along. We really like the idea and are visiting her in a couple of weeks!
Proud illustrator and street artist she is pretty much and entrepreneur. Apart from the brunch, Elisa organizes paste-up and stickers lessons for groups.
The price of the brunch is 12€ per person and you need to book the date through this link.
We hope you like this week selection of events. Our aim is to keep supporting the small business and entrepreneurs. If you would like to be in the agenda or know anyone that might be interested contact us on email@example.com.
