Welcome to the first agenda of the year! We are quite excited to have been running this project for over a year already and to see it growing and accommodating to the needs of our good people. During 2017 we will keep investing all our energy to bring you closer to all the happenings in Barcelona so you can explore the city as a local and meet lots of cool and interesting people along the way.

More than ever we want to keep focusing on local commerce and all the gems Barcelona has to offer to us like its unique restaurants, design stores, homegrown music, markets and art exhibitions to name but a few.

The first agenda of the year is dedicated to the little ones of the house to enjoy this extra week of holidays and celebrate the 5th of January; a night where the magic kings from orient come to everybody´s home to leave presents, but only if they were well behaved!

MONDAY 2ND OF JANUARY 2017 | THE THREE KINGS TOY FACTORY

You are still in time to visit the factory where The Three Magic Kings of the orient make and store all the presents that will be delivered during the night of the 5th.Their little helpers are collecting all the letters from the kids and putting them in a magic post box for the magic kings to receive them on time.

Frabra I coats is the place selected this year for this magical days that will be open every day until the 4TH of January!

TUESDAY 3RD OF JANUARY 2017 | ITALIAN CIRCUS

In Spain the Christmas holiday lasts until the 6th of January and as in every country, it’s a special time to spend with the loved ones. It is quite typical to take the kids to the circus during those days, an obvious choice considering that there are like 5 different shows around the city.We would like to recommend the Italian circus since the show that they perform is stunning. Barcelona does not allow circus shows with animals as of 2003 and we love this initiative, putting on the show to give their audience an unbeatable performance.

Tickets for Monday and Tuesday are only 9€ and it goes on until Sunday 8th of January 😉

WEDNESDAY 4TH OF JANUARY 2017 | DECORATING THE THREE MAGIC KINGS

There are a lot of cute little events around the city but I especially like this one where kids can learn some basic cooking lessons while they have fun decorating cookies with the shape of the three magic kings. The price is only 15€ and you need to register at the shop!

BCN MAKERS

If you are still looking for some presents to give for “los reyes magos” there is a market in my beloved Gracia during the 4th and 5th of January with some furniture, clothes, accessories, plants and empanadas combined with incredible vermouth!More info here.

THURSDAY 5TH OF JANUARY 2017| THE THREE MAGIC KINGS PARADE

If you are around for the 5th of January you cannot miss out on the biggest parade of the year. We went to Plaza Cataluña last year after only a few months in Barcelona and it was very exciting! There are like hundreds of different trucks with unique themes, the performers dress up with lots of colors, sparkles and they dance to the rhythm of some crazy choreography. I loved it even as an adult. I simply cannot start to imagine what kids feel like!

More info about the time table and route here.

EL AFTERWORK DE LOS JUEVES

Before the parade maybe you would like to have a cheeky wine and oyster at Au port de la lune, a French place in Pau Claris which is throwing a welcome party to celebrate the first Thursday after work of the year. One glass of wine or cava and three Oyster´s for only 5€!! If you want to find us you know where to go on Thursday 😉

VEN TU AT BESTIAL

It is quite typical to go out in Spain during the night of the 5th of January since many people do not have to go to class or work next day.Its a pretty cool night to misbehave since we still have some leftover Xmas spirit. Ven Tú are well known in Barcelona for their amazing parties and this time they are giving free entrance for Bestial, right by the beach…need I say more?

I have heard good stuff about this show, it took me over a year to find it and I can finally sing its victory!

The show is not recommended to people under 18 so leave the kids with their toys and get some you time on Sunday with vermouth, tapas and a great comedy show.Among the performances you can find monologues, groups and even big names of the Spanish humor scene that escape time to time from the big crowds.
