THINGS TO DO IN BARCELONA SEPTEMBER 2017 | WEEK 38
BARCELONA AGENDA 18.9.17 – 24.9.17
This week we are going to enjoy one of the biggest and most anticipates festivities in Barcelona, La Mercè. These four days of activities and fun celebrate the cult of Barcelona for their “patrona” or protector. Everybody knows how Catalans love sharing their culture so during those days you can expect all the typical demonstrations such as correfocs, giants, castellers and music in the streets.
Every year they invite a new city to perform with different shows during La Mercè and this year is the time for Reykjavik, thus the whole festival will have a certain Icelandic touch. Hopefully they won´t bring their weather with them and we can enjoy this great festival under a beaming Barcelona sun!
The festivity stretches across the whole city from Las Ramblas to Moll de la Fusta and La Barceloneta passing by Fabra I Coats or Parc del Forum. Last year our favourite space was Parc de la Ciutadella with plenty of food trucks and shows around the whole park. Estrella Damm will open their doors as usual and move to Bogatell beach for concerts on Saturday and Sunday, also Raval and Plaça Reial will hold some special surprises. You can always check their agenda and see what you feel like doing every day. Only one thing from our end…staying at home is just not an option!
