WINE AND PAINT NIGHTS? SIGN ME UP!
One of the latest events that we have attended in the past weeks is Arte Bar Paint Nights and what a blast! We have heard about this kind of experiences before but didn’t really try or I was a bit too shy to do it “solo”.
As every time that we try something new we could not be more wrong. The whole evening was perfect, I had a little chat with one of the co-owners Alisa Rosseter before the class. She turned to be an absolute sweetheart with a very interesting background.
She and her husband Bruce are running the painting and wine night sessions in Barcelona in this incredible space called Arte Bar. They started only a few weeks ago and they already have plenty of people interested in them. They used to own a studio in Los Angeles 10 years ago where they were teaching the fundamentals of painting and drawing, then Europe starting calling and they spend a few years doing art summer camps for teenagers in Toulouse and Gerona.
It was the last December when they decided to go back to what they are good at but this time with a switch, introducing the Bar part and the fun involved with the paint and wine events. Thus, Alisa and Bruce moved to Barcelona with their 3 dogs and a cat to find the perfect venue, refurbish it and turned into what is today, Arte Bar, a place to develop your painting skills, meet new people and have some fun with a wine in your hand (they are very much into the fun part).
The event is suitable for everybody, no painting experience is required, and their instructor’s will guide you step-by-step in creating the featured painting of the night. Arte Bar has sessions in different languages such as Spanish, English, Spanglish, Catalan and Portuguese. They are having several request for private events/parties such team building, birthday parties, hen parties and large groups, and it is a great experience to do by yourself as well, have some fun and meet some new and interesting people.
During my night experience there was a couple, he was from South America but was raised here and she was from Austria, a lady from Cataluña, our amazing teacher Bruce and Alex assisting the class. Alisa was coming over time to time to cheer us up and talk about different subjects while enjoying our painting.
They do a couple of breaks with some more wine and a bit of pica pica that helps a lot with the networking and to know a bit more the people involved in the experience. If I had to rate from 1 to 10 I will give them a 10, they were friendly, kind, and chatty and we laugh a lot during the time we were there.
I have to say that my painting is not the best, but well, they cannot do miracles….
